Wedding Planner Checklist

Your Wedding Planner Checklist is a timeframe for you to work to. It gives you an idea of what needs to be done and when. It helps you to plan ahead and allieviate some of that stress. Use your Wedding Planner Checklist in conjuntion with your Summary of Things to Do and you have a Wedding Plan, something to work to. It's simple but effective, helping you to organise and arrange what needs to be done.

 After Engagement ....

  • Call a meeting with celebrant or minister

 

  • Choose a bridal party

 

  • Decide on your budget with parents

 

  • Decide on wedding date

 

  • Find a photographer and videographer

 

  • Select the brides' and bridesmaids gowns and accessories

 

 

 

 Six Months To Go....

 

  • Book wedding day cars or other transportation

 

  • Choose a wedding cake

 

  • Choose a groom and attentants suits

 

  • Design your invitations and other stationery

 

  • Have dress fittings for bride and attendants

 

  • Look at bands / musicians/ disc jocky for ceremony and reception

 

  • Make appointments for hair and makeup for bride and attendants

 

  • Organise honeymoon destinantion

 

  • Select a florist

 

 

 

 Three Months To Go....

 

  • Arrange any travel documents required for honeymoon ie. passports, travel insurance etc.

 

  • Attend any pre-wedding programs as required

 

  • Book honeymoon

 

  • Book musicians for ceremony and reception

 

  • Confirm other printing requirements ie RSVP cards, order of service books, place carts etc.

 

  • Draw up draft for guest list and discuss with relevant parties

 

  • Finalise ceremony order with minister or celebrant

 

  • Finalise flower selections

 

  • Have invitations printed

 

  • Register your gifts at a bridal registry

 

  • Write wedding vows

 

 

 

 Two Months To Go....

 

  • Book wedding night accomodation

 

  • Finalise guest list and send out invitations

 

  • Finalise order of service books for ceremony and get minister to check

 

  • Have another dress fitting and organise final fitting date

 

  • Make final selections for any readings for the ceremony

 

  • Select wedding rings for bride and groom

 

  • Speak to your reception wedding coordinator to discuss menus and any decorations required

 

 

 

 One Month To Go....

 

  • Book a date for the ceremony rehearsal

 

  • Buy gifts for bridal party and parents

 

  • Check all deposits have been paid

 

  • Choose a master of ceremonies for the reception

 

  • Confirm groom and groomsmens' suits and other accessories

 

  • Finalise documentation required for minister or celbrant for ceremony

 

  • Have any beauty treatments such as facial

 

  • Have kitchen tea for bride

 

  • Select accessories for the bides' gown

 

  • Work on guest table and seating allocations

 

 

 

 One Week To Go....

 

  • Arrange a hold on your mail while on your honeymooon or arrange for someone else to collect your mail

 

  • Chase up any outstanding RSVPs'

 

  • Collect and try on your wedding outfits and check accessories

 

  • Confirm appointments for manicure and / or pedicure

 

  • Confirm equipment hire and wedding transportation

 

  • Confirm grooms' transport arrangements for the ceremony

 

  • Final guest numbers to reception venue

 

  • Give the caterer your final numbers

 

  • Give your shoes a test run at least one week before

 

  • Groom and his attendants should have any haircuts done now

 

  • Grooms' suit to be collected

 

  • Groomsmen to organise any drinks for the photo session

 

  • Have any wax done

 

  • Have hair and makeup trial

 

  • Have hair coloured, if necessary  

 

  • Hens and bucks parties to be held by now

 

  • Organise a schedule for final payments

 

  • Organise disposable cameras for the reception

 

  • Organise for someone to return hired clothes and equipment when your dream day is over

 

  • Pack for your honeymoon, especially be certain of passports and tickets (pick these up from your travel agent)

 

  • Pick up wedding rings and have any other jewellery cleaned

 

  • Pick up your gown a week before

 

  • Practice smiling!

 

  • Settle all accounts with your wedding suppliers or make arrangements for someone to handle them whilst on your  honeymoon, depending on each suppliers terms of supply

 

  • Start having some early nights and drink lots of water

 

  • Write place cards for reception adn drop off at reception with guest list

 

 

 

 The Day Before....

 

  • Arrange refreshments for the wedding party throughout times which will not be catered for

 

  • Attend rehearsal

 

  • Confirm haiar and makeup

 

  • Confirm the flowers and cake are arriving, also the musicians and / or DJs

 

  • Finalise your schedule for tomorrow and give this to relevant parties

 

  • Give attendants and groomsmen their gifts

 

  • Give each other wedding gifts

 

  • Give the Guest / Thought Book to a trusted friend to distribute throughout the reception

 

  • Have nails manicured

 

  • Layout everything you need for the wedding day

 

  • Pack an emergency kit including needle and thread, safety pins, extra stockings, tissues, lipstick and band-aids

 

  • Pack essentials for the wedding night, basically an overnight bag for the honeymoon

 

  • Relax and have a great  nights sleep

 

 

 

 The Big Day....

 

  • Breath easily all day and stick to the schedule you created yesterday

 

  • Ensure all wedding rings are with Maiden of Honour and Best Man

 

  • Ensure you are wearing your engagement ring on you right hand

 

  • Have a typical breakfast that won't upset your body

 

  • Load into the first wedding car any items you'll need for the day or the honeymoon adn have someone ensure these items are properly transferred to where you need them to be, if they are not already at the preferred location

 

  • Relax and enjoy your wedding day

 

 

 

 After The Big Day....

 

  • Enjoy your honeymoon

 

  • Have a wedding dress drycleaned and stored

 

  • Have flowers preserved if you desire

 

  • Make an appointment to see photographer and videographer to see their finished work

 

  • Name change (drivers license, passport, etc.)

 

  • Send thank you cards for gifts

 

  • Send thank you notes to outstanding wedding suppliers

 

  • Then it is time to enjoy the rest of your life together..... and may all your dreams come true
